Depending on your income and situation, the amount of life insurnace reccommended by your agent is determed by first your age, health and current life style. A family with four small children, two working parents may need more life insurance than a pre-retiree who is on a fixed income.
Do I need a medical exam?
Short answer yes, however, there are situations where insurance companies can bypass a medical exam due to COVID. However, most companies require a blood draw and urine test before approving an individual for life insurance.
What is a underwriter?
An underwriter works for the insurance company and task is to classify how risky or not an individual\ is rated. This invites also the opportunity to be declined by an insurnace company and can make the approvals

Can I apply for coverage if I am a smoker?
Yes, although your premiums will be slightly higher compared to someone who is not a smoker and of same age and health, however, an insurance comany will insure smoker as long medically the individual is healthy.
Can I apply for coverage if I contracted COVID?
Yes! COVID is not a chronic disease or virus. However, you should wait up to thirty days after you have tested positive for COVID.
Will my life insurance pay out?
As long as premiums are paid, yes your life insurance will payout if an unsuspected death
were to occur. Additionally, some policies will allow you the option to choose how many years a pplicy can
be paid for. For example, you can customize a whole life policy to collect premiums for
10, 20 or 30 years, at this point the policy is considered “paid-up no more premiums are due
, which means the insurance and other benefits are wholey owned by the insured or owner.
